Choosing the right paint color can be one of the most daunting tasks in decorating. Even designers will agree that it's challenging, as the color can look different from room to room and at different hours in the day. That is why it is so important to get samples. I NEVER choose a color without seeing it in the room first.

Before choosing your paint color, be aware of how you want the room to feel. Do you want it to be cozy and intimate? Rich and dramatic? Clean and bright? Then choose a paint color that helps you achieve that feeling. It’s also very important to consider how much light you have and how that light will affect the shade you choose.

We want to see the room in relation to other rooms in the house—if the door is open or you pass through one room to the other, do you see this room's color? It’s also important to consider whether or not we’re incorporating any existing pieces and how the paint we choose will play off those elements.

I know this sounds like a lot to consider before choosing a color but you will be so happy you did. “It’s just paint” but it is also time and money so if we can get it right the first time that is always the goal. For these reasons, I offer color consultations. These can be so beneficial whether paint is the only change you are making or you are doing a full renovation.
