Bold Bed & Bath

When I first met with these homeowners about their bedroom they had already bought a beautiful blue upholstered bed and painted an accent wall black. Unfortunately that is where the design stopped. Like many people, they got some decision paralysis and weren’t really sure where to go next.

I asked them if the goal of the bedroom was to be moody, considering their starting point. If so, would they be open to painting the entire room black? They were a bit apprehensive but decided to trust me and go for it and man am I glad they did!

To keep the room from being too dark we used a colorful wallpaper behind the bed, warm woven shades with white curtains, and white bedding. Updating the fan made a huge difference as well.

Before

They did not want to spend a lot of money in the bathroom since they may redo it down the road but modernizing the 50’s tile was proving to be a bit of a challenge for them.

We added a woven shade, some art, a new shower curtain and it became a whole new space.

My solution was simple yet effective, paint! A bold hunter green that we took all the way up the ceiling.
