Nashville Kitchen

This project holds a special place because I completed it for my Mother in Law. She raised six children in this home, all of whom are grown at this point and she is so deserving of this renovation and beautiful kitchen!

Here is a glimpse into the process with our inspiration board. They wanted to keep the original floors because they extend into a few other rooms so that was our starting point. I wanted to make sure the finishes we selected would mesh well with those so we leaned into the grays and creams.

We changed the layout pretty drastically, you can see it start to take shape in this photo. The only thing that stayed in the same spot was the sink!

Here is the before- in this image you can see exactly why I decided to change the layout. The fridge was floating obtrusively by the doorway and there was not much prep/work space. My in-laws are big coffee drinkers so we decided to move the fridge and create a pretty coffee bar in the area that the fridge was.

You can see that area taking shape here. We made sure to add plenty of storage in that area and use glass front cabinets up top to differentiate it from the rest of the kitchen.

We are so pleased with how this all turned out. It is not only beautiful but it functions in a completely different and superior way! Oh and just a moment for that stunning quartzite, these countertops may be my absolute favorite!
